Job Description
JOB DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Product Strategy:
- Establish a comprehensive digital product strategy that is aligned with the Company’s vision, mission and goals which aims to develop necessary digital initiatives/tools/applications to assist in decision making and managing drilling & completion, subsurface activities, and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning);
- Develop plans based on the established strategy, identify necessary resources to implement such plans and achieve the goals.
- Define and prioritize features, enhancements, and product roadmap.
2. Requirement Analysis:
- Lead a team to conduct internal research and working sessions to gather, document, and analyze the needs and expectations of end users to define the scope and features of products specific to drilling & completion, subsurface, and ERP applications.
- Possess an excellent capability for business analytics to understand the business needs and identify solutions to the challenges.
3. Product Development:
- Lead an agile team to work with cross-functional teams e.g. engineering, geoscience, budget control, accounting… to drive the development of fit for purpose digital products.
- Select the most appropriate, cost-effective technologies that can be applied to support the development of the products.
- Aware of the available solutions so as to select the most optimal approaches to address the issues/challenges.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality deliverables/releases.
4. End Users Departments Engagement:
- Work closely with internal departments, such as drilling engineers, geoscientists, and budget, procurement, finance teams… to understand their unique requirements and integrate feedback into the product development process.
- Identify the interfaces between departments, between products and manage them effectively; develop the vision for potential expansion.
5. Drilling & Completion, Subsurface, and ERP Expertise:
- Possession of deep domain expertise in drilling & completion technologies, subsurface modeling, and ERP systems within the context of upstream oil and gas operations is desirable.
- Keep up with industry advancements and emerging technologies in drilling, subsurface engineering, and enterprise resource planning.
6. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage product budgets; avoid budget overrun.
- Manage changes effectively.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Foster collaboration with other departments, ensuring a cohesive product ecosystem and identifying opportunities for integration.
8. Others:
- Execute order duties assigned by General Manager/ Company.
GENERIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Good Governance
- Enforce the implementation of applicable PQPOC procedures and guidelines and assure the compliance to statutory and legislative requirements.
2. HSE Policies:
- Enforce the implementation of the objectives and provisions of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and undertake appropriate mitigation and/or intervention programmes to safeguard business operations.
3. Company Culture & Internal Labor Regulation (ILR):
- Implement distinctive mindset, behavior and culture to achieve high work performance. Promote and instill high sense of Trust – Effectiveness – Discipline that will contribute to operational excellence.
- Enforce the implementation of the objectives and provisions of Internal Labor Regulation.
MAJOR CHALLENGES
- Ability to work under high pressure with minimal supervision.
- Multi-functional and able to cope up with diverse job demands.
- Working & interfacing with people having multi-cultural background in the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- English: IELTS: 5.5 or equivalents (can be assessed directly during the interview).
EXPERIENCES
Substantial experience (typically 5-10 years) in product management, preferably with a focus on drilling & completion, subsurface, and ERP applications in the oil and gas upstream sector.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of drilling & completion processes, subsurface modeling, and ERP systems specific to the oil and gas industry.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess dynamics drivers, alternative products, and end users needs.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Project Management:
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, including coordination with cross-functional teams and adherence to project timelines.
- Has deep knowledge of agile management and proven track record of leading agile team to successfully execute the application development for at least three projects.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
Adaptability:
- Ability to adapt to changing operations conditions and incorporate feedback into product development.
Innovation:
- Embrace changes and treat changes as daily facts.
- Proactive in seeking innovative solutions and added value alternatives.
